Homewares Product information

A few general points about product specifications.

Professional product photography, colour management and digitisation take real physical, original artworks ad translate them into digital files that can be reproduced accurately onto products. These are done with the highest level of attention so that they accurately represent the original artwork, making it true to the original.

With laser print, the inks are delivered in 4 colours, but with a giclee print the machine uses 12 colours and is able to gain a much closer reproduction of the original. If you are looking for colour accuracy, vibrance and the highest quality, longest surviving reproduction, use a giclee print

All prints should be hung away from direct sunlight for longevity. The Eco cushions are suitable for outdoor use, but should be put away when out of use

For wholesale, prints are offered at A1 and A3 as standard. However, if you would like to order a volume of prints at a specific size, or to square dimensions, please ask. Cushions are offered in a range of sizes already so simply select the size you would like.

Ethics and sustainability

Being ethical, cruelty free and sustainable are important considerations to me and I aim to do business without causing harm. Here are a few specifics.

The cushion pads are of non-animal origin, made from poly fibre padding, which also helps them to be suitable for those with allergies to down feathers.

Sustainability is a strong consideration in these products. The specialist dye sublimation uses pigment that fuses with the fabric which means that it is of high quality and long lasting. The 100% natural Cotton Linen fabric uses another eco-friendly printing process called pigment printing.  These fabrics are all printed using completely water-based inks meaning no chemicals or solvents are used. The heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system.

Print has for a long time been one of the greenest industries going. Our fine art printers run on 100% green energy and are based on a site that is in a ecologically sound cob building at an eco park. The paper we use is FSC and comes from managed forests. The inks used are water based and use no solvents. There is also no waste paper and no waste stock due to the tight management of the print process. As we print to order, there is also no wasted stock.

At present, the company doesn’t have the resources to go through the B Corp certification, but it is on the radar for the future, if the B Corp certification holds up to being an accreditation that is meaningful.

This website runs on 100% green hosting which also plants trees. I also participate in Just One Tree’s tree planting scheme and work on Ecosia as a web browser. One of the best ways to be green is to look at where your money sits, therefore the banking and pension we use is with ethical companies that do not participate in funding arms or other socially and environmentally destructive activities such as fossil fuels, unethical labour or logging in the Amazon. Other measures take include not sending too many emails (to reduce carbon) and not buying from companies such as Amazon.
